Zooey goodies…?

I have set up a little shop with a few Zooey goodies and anybody is interested. The store is located here – the link is also on the sidebar.

Currently there are three categories:
1 – Zooey Deschanel – The picture from the site lol with ‘Zooey Deschanel’ wording.
2 – WWZD? – The picture from the site logo with ‘WWZD?’ – inspired by the old What Would Jesus Do? shirts.
3 – Zooey Performing – A couple of photographs I took at the London KOKO show.

The store is hosted at Zazzle – they are in charge of production and shipping, so take a look if you’re interested!

I have only added items today so most won’t actually show up in the store for a day or two so try again then and you’ll probably see more.

Remember, it’s still new so I will add more items to the product list as time goes on.

Summer site refresh!

You may have noticed I have given the site a makeover. Nice and bright it’s ideal for the summer!

Gone is the dark blue background, I’ve brightened it up. Also changed the green link and headers to a medium red colour for a bit of contrast. I’ve kept the ‘She & Him Volume Two Girl’ icon, and adjusted it slightly. Plus lots of pretty curves around parts of the site!

Also notice the new header, with a little picture of Zooey I created on Photoshop. Smart simple black and white with vivid eyes and lips, I really like this picture.

A few more tweaks on top of that (and a few more to do), I hope you enjoy the fresh look here!

Thieves – Music Video

The music video for Volume Two’s Thieves is now online (at Pitchfork).
Filmed artistically in grainy black and white, keep a look out for child versions of Zooey and Matt (complete with beard!) and references to the Volume Two album artwork.

Enjoy!

iPhone 4 Pictures now here

Due to the release of the new iPhone 4, I have re-uploaded lots of pictures and wallpapers suitable for it. This is due to the improved display on the new iPhone which has an increased resolution from 320 x 480 to 640 x 960 – that’s four times as much detail!

So, all new iPhone wallpapers will be at this resolution. But if you still have an original device, don’t worry they will still work.

Currently all iPhone pictures here are in the standard portrait orientation. Soon I shall add landscape pictures too, as these can be used as backgrounds to some applications or simply viewed in the gallery.

Use the menu or click this link to see the pictures. Enjoy!

She & Him – Simpsons Picture

She & Him Simpsons

Found online: a picture of Zooey and Matt (She & Him) by Simpson’s creator, Matt Groening! A promo for the band’s visit to the UK (in association with ATP).

Behind the scenes…

I am working with Drupal to see if I can create a more engaging website!

It could take a while as there is a lot to play with, and lots to learn. If I am happy with the way it works and how it works, I will transfer over as much as I can and switch it on.

For now, I hope you still enjoy using this one.

Updates - 10th May 2010

  • My videos from the KOKO show have been edited, processed and converted. I will soon get them onto my YouTube and post them here. Although the first, Lingering Still, is already up!
  • The KOKO review that I blogged has been expanded and put onto it’s own page here as a subpage of the 2010 UK Tour.
  • Added a discussion forum! No idea if it’s of any use, but it’s there all the same. If you like it I’ll improve it.
  • A selection of new pictures and iPhone backgrounds have been added to the gallery.
  • Updated the Zooey’s Twitter page and changed the link from the @zooeyduk Twitter to my own Twitter page as I am merging them (no need to run 2 accounts).
  • Posted some animated GIF images.
  • Added the ‘girl’ from She & Him’s Volume Two album to the right of the website, for prettiness.
  • A few little tweaks, such as site width and menu list.

Thank you everyone for visiting. If you are going to Shepherd’s Bush tonight to see She & Him, have a great time!

Lingering Still – Live at KOKO

She & Him perform Lingering Still at KOKO, London, May 2010.
This is the first video I have managed to upload! I have a few more to do. I know the quality isn’t great but it’s fine for a small camera!

She & Him at KOKO, London - Review and Pictures

Zooey Deschanel at KOKO, London, May 2010

Yesterday we went to the She & Him gig at KOKO in Camden, London (Zooey Deschanel and Matt Ward). Such an amazing show, beautiful and energetic! And we were two people away from the front :) . Zooey Deschanel was as stunning, energetic and talented as I though, I think she still get’s nervous performing though! Of course, she received many declarations of love, from boys and girls!

Towards the end of the main set, the band performed hit after hit with such energy and pace that the whole room was buzzing! The main set was followed by two amazing encores.

Support was by The Chapin Sisters (Lily and Abigail Chapin). We met these girls after the show and they signed a CD for us which was a lovely touch. They were really nice, and their music is beautiful.

Here is a photograph I took of Zooey Deschanel singing; click through to see my Flickr page for many more pictures, including a few of Camden town and of course, the Chapin Sisters! (Might post some more here soon though)

Got a couple of She & Him t-shirts too (well that is a must at any gig!).

The KOKO venue in Camden, London is very pretty and nicely done out. It goes very high up inside and has a huge disco ball (which Zooey actually commented on!). It’s quite small, which I actually like as it’s more intimate. Although it means it takes a little while to empty the room afterwards (we could have stayed on for a club night, but we had a train to catch and merch to buy).

She & Him Setlist:
1: I Was Made For You
2: Thieves
3: Black Hole
